I was invited to a luncheon last week at the Angus Barn to introduce a new Pulte subdvision in Cary - Harmony Reserve. The food was wonderful! There was a great presentation about Harmony Reserve which is located off Hwy 55 and Turner School Road. Homes will be starting in the $430’s. There will be three models from which you can choose for your new home(Avalon, Breckenridge and Edinburgh). Basement homesites are also available if you need the extra room for your children, in-laws or if you just want the space for yourself. There will be gourmet kitchens for entertaining or just for you to enjoy and luxurious bathrooms for your relaxation. They will have 2 or 3 car garage options. If you’d like more information, please contact Michelle Edwards at 919-306-1639.

The other day I had an appointment in Wake Forest. Unfortunately, the person I was suppose to meet forgot about the appointment. I decided to have lunch in Wake Forest before going back to the office. If you haven’t been to Wake Forest lately, it’s really growing by leaps and bounds. There is lots of shopping and neat restaurants springing up. Also, there’s a new planned unit development going in on 1A - Holding Village. It will have a variety of different housing opportunities. Getting back to my restaurant experience. I went to The Well (coffee shop and restaurant) on 1A. It was an old home that had been redone - large rooms and hardwoods. Folks were there having business meetings, just having lunch, being tutored or just enjoying their time surfing the net. The menu consisted of sandwiches, salads and desserts. The desserts looked scrumptous. There were extra fudgy brownies with chocolate chips, cheese cake, cookies, several kinds of pound cake and my favorite triple chocolate cake! This is a place that you could go and enjoy a leisurely lunch. If you are looking for a lighter fare, I would strongly recommend eating at The Well the next time you’re in Wake Forest. If you haven’t checked out Wake Forest lately, you owe it to yourself to check out the housing opportunities, downtown, shopping and restaurants. For more information on housing opportunities in Wake Forest, contact Michelle Edwards at 919-306-1639.

In case you haven’t heard, the City of Raleigh imposed Stage 2 Water Restrictions on February 15. The restrictions comprise the municipalities of Garner, Knightdale, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon. The following measures are included in the Stage 2 Water Conservation ordinance. Prohibits the use of public water for irrigation. Prohibits filling new swimming or wadding pools. Water may be added to pools to maintain sanitary conditions. Filling of pools drained for repair is prohibited. Prohibits washing vehicles at any location except car washes certified by the City of Raleigh. Prohibits washing of areas such as sidewalks, patios, decks, driveways, parking lots, streets and exterior building services, except for soiled areas for the maintenance of public health and sanitary conditions. Prohibits the serving of drinking water in restaurants except upon request. Buildings with water-cooled air conditioners or heating equipment that does not recycle City-supplied water must adjust thermostats to the highest or lowest settings available, respectively, except with occupant health and safety are adversely affected. Requires innkeepers to ask guests spending more than one night to use their towels and bed linens more than once between laundering. The first violation of the Stage 2 ordinance carries a fine of $1000. Any recurrence of the violation may result in interruption of water service. The municipalities are requesting that all businesses and residents on the water system take the following measures to further conserve: Install low-flow shower heads and faucet restrictors by March 1, 2008. Use rain barrels for watering shrubs, flowers or vegetables. It appears unlikely now that drinking water will be available for irrigation in 2008. It’s up to us as responsible citizens to abide by these conservation measures (Provided by the City of Raleigh, February 13, 2008). Michelle Edwards attended Keller Williams Realty Annual Family Reunion February 9-13, 2008 in Atlanta, GA. This is the company’s annual Main Event where like minded agents come together to network, attend educational courses, find out the state of the company, what’s going on in the real estate industry and have a little fun! The big topic of discussion was the shift in the real estate market and how to handle the shift. As our keynote speaker, Seth Godin, author of The Dip, stated how an agent can power through the tough times and low points (shifts/dips), how to set yourself apart from the pack by escaping dead ends quickly and staying focused and motivated when it really counts. In other words, you need to be the best in the world, you need to stand out! If you’re an agent reading this, stick with your business during these times, don’t give up! There will be better times on the horizon. You will reap rich rewards. Pictured with Michelle Edwards is Gary Keller, co-founder of company and Christina Cummings, fellow agent partner.
